Dalton's Birthday

Last week was Dalton's 9th birthday. It's hard to believe that he is getting that old. On the Saturday before his birthday we took him to Pocatello and let him do some shopping and then went to eat at Red Lobster (he wanted crab legs). Mushroom head Darth Vader cake. I am not a very good cake decorator and usually buy the kids cakes but decided that I could handle this one. After seeing this picture I think I will stick with buying them. Yes we ran out of candles so I had to improvise.

Face Painting

Anika was begging me to have a face painting party so finally I let her invite some friends over and we spent the afternoon painting faces and arms and tummies. It was kind of crazy but a lot of fun. Fenton's Spider Fenton had a spider a pirate ship and thomas. I'm not sure why he wanted the circles around his eyes.

Father Son Campout

A few weeks ago Alex planned a father/son camp out for our ward. They snowmobiled to a cabin up Paris canyon and spent a bunch of time snowmobiling and sledding. The boys had a great time. Ethan Sledding Dalton going backwards (his favorite)

Winter Fun

This last weekend we decided to go and spend some time enjoying the snow before it is gone. (although I think it make take an entire year for it all to melt) We went up Emmigration Canyon and enjoyed all the great snow they have up there. I think this picture of the boys shows how much they love the snow. As they were walking along the trail back to the car they would just fall over into the snow. In this picture Fenton had just fallen down and Ethan is falling down. If you look along the trail you can see lots of places were they have fallen down.

This was an outhouse at Emmigration Campground. The boys were jumping off of it into the snow. Alex told the boys to all jump at once but as you can see that really didn't work.

This was Griffins first time in the snow. He really likes the snow but hates gloves so he had a great time until his hands started to freeze.

Anika didn't want to sled at all so she just played around in the snow. She was mad at me so she wouldn't smile for a picture and this was all I could get of her.

Dalton's Gymnastics Meet

Dalton went to his first gymnastics meet of the year this last weekend. He was very nervous about it but did a great job. He took 1st on trampoline and double mini and 3rd on floor. Our camera isn't really great at taking fast moving pictures so most of the pictures are just of him getting his medals but there is one of him doing his back tuck on the floor. Dalton is still really enjoying gymnastics and I can't believe some of the stuff that he can do. It is really fun to watch him.

Potatoes

One of Griffin's favorite chew toys is potatoes. DIRTY red potatoes. If they don't have dirt on them he doesn't want them. He has had this weird fetish for a while now but I have final gotten some pictures of him in the act.

Samuel the Lamanite

Last week for FHE we made a movie of Samuel the Lamanite. It is Ethan's favorite scripture story so he got to be Sameul. Alex made arrows out of foam that Dalton shot at Ethan, and Anika threw socks (stones) at him. Alex (the director) really got into it and even moved the piano so that Ethan had a wall to preach from.
